A creamy, spicy, and addictive buffalo chicken dip that’s perfect for game days, parties, or cozy nights in. Made with just five main ingredients, it’s quick, easy, and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (about 450 g)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (225 g)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce (120 ml)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (120 ml)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (100 g)
  • Optional: chopped green onions or chives for garnish
  • Optional: celery sticks or tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the chicken by shredding about 2 cups of cooked chicken.
  3. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes or microwaving for 15 seconds.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, buffalo hot sauce, and ranch dressing using a hand mixer or sturdy spoon until smooth and creamy. Add more ranch or hot sauce if needed to loosen the mixture.
  5. Fold in the shredded chicken until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  10. Garnish with chopped green onions or chives.
  11. Serve warm with celery sticks, tortilla chips, or crackers.

Notes

If the dip feels too thick after mixing, add a tablespoon of milk or extra ranch dressing to loosen it without watering down the flavor. For an extra crispy top, broil for the last 1-2 minutes watching closely to avoid burning. Softening the cream cheese properly is key to a smooth dip. You can prepare the dip a day ahead and bake fresh before serving. Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 4 days and can be reheated with a splash of milk or ranch to restore creaminess.
