  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • Cream cheese icing, for drizzling (optional)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Chopped pecans or walnuts, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough to a 12-inch round. Let rest if the dough shrinks.
  3. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
  4. In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the vanilla extract. Brush half of this mixture over the surface of the dough, reaching the edges.
  5. In another bowl, combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is bubbly and glossy. Watch closely after 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately brush the remaining butter mixture over the top.
  9. If desired, drizzle with cream cheese icing, dust with powdered sugar, or sprinkle with chopped nuts. Let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Slice into 8 wedges and serve warm.

For a gluten-free version, use your favorite gluten-free pizza crust. To make it dairy-free, substitute vegan butter and use a plant-based icing.
