A comforting and shareable cinnamon roll casserole topped with a silky maple cream glaze, perfect for tailgates and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 standard 16-ounce (454g) package refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing removed
  • 4 tablespoons (57g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup (50g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons (about 4g) ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • For the Maple Cream Glaze:
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) pure maple syrup
  • 23 tablespoons (30-45ml) milk or cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Open the package of cinnamon rolls and remove the icing. Cut each roll into quarters.
  3. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Stir until smooth.
  4. Layer one third of the chopped cinnamon roll pieces into the bottom of the baking dish. Drizzle one third of the cinnamon sugar butter over the pieces. Repeat layering two more times, finishing with the cinnamon sugar butter on top.
  5. In a measuring cup, mix heavy cream with vanilla extract. Pour evenly over the layered rolls.
  6. Bake the casserole for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
  7. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of milk or cream. Add more milk as needed for a smooth, pourable glaze.
  8. Remove casserole from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Drizzle the maple cream glaze generously over the warm casserole before serving.

Notes

Remove icing from cinnamon rolls to avoid overly sweet casserole. Let casserole rest 10 minutes after baking for easier serving. Tent with foil if top browns too fast. Glaze can be warmed slightly before drizzling for richer finish. For dairy-free, substitute milk and butter accordingly. Can be assembled night before and refrigerated.
