A quick and easy 5-ingredient frozen snack combining ripe bananas, creamy peanut butter, and melted chocolate for a creamy, refreshing treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup (125 g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup (170 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice bananas into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Lay on parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  2. Melt chocolate chips in microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix peanut butter, honey, and sea salt until smooth.
  4. Dip each frozen banana slice first into the peanut butter mixture, coating generously, then immediately dip into melted chocolate, coating fully. Let excess drip off.
  5. Place coated banana slices back onto parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Freeze for at least 1 hour until chocolate is firm and bites are fully frozen.
  6. Transfer frozen bites to an airtight container and store in freezer. Let sit at room temperature for a minute before serving for best creamy texture.

Notes

Use firm, ripe bananas to avoid mushy bites. Freeze banana slices before dipping to prevent melting. Work quickly during dipping as peanut butter and chocolate set fast. Double dip in peanut butter for extra creaminess. Store in airtight container in freezer up to 2 weeks. Let bites sit at room temperature 2-3 minutes before serving for best texture.
