  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken (about 450g or 1 lb)
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream (120ml)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (100g)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (50g)
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8 minutes. Drain on paper towels and chop once cooled.
  3. If not already shredded, shred about 3 cups (450g) of cooked chicken using two forks or your hands.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt to taste. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Fold shredded chicken and half of the chopped bacon into the sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into a prepared 9×9 inch (23×23 cm) baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella evenly over the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and edges begin to turn golden.
  8. Remove from oven and sprinkle the remaining chopped bacon and chopped green onions over the top. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use room-temperature cream cheese for easier mixing. Cook bacon in a skillet for best texture. Watch cheese closely in the last 5 minutes to avoid over-browning. For a dairy-free version, substitute cream cheese and sour cream with coconut cream or dairy-free alternatives. Adding steamed broccoli or spinach before baking adds a vegetable boost.
