A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe featuring crispy skin and a fresh lemon dill sauce, perfect for a healthy and flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (about 6 ounces / 170 grams each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 large lemon)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Optional garnish: lemon slices or extra dill sprigs

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and lightly score the skin with a sharp knife to prevent curling during cooking.
  2. Brush the skin side of the salmon with olive oil and season both sides generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together fresh lemon juice, chopped dill, minced garlic, and honey or maple syrup (if using). Set aside.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the skin is crispy and the flesh is opaque and flaky (internal temperature around 145°F / 63°C).
  5. Carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer using a spatula. Drizzle the lemon dill sauce over the top and garnish with extra dill or lemon slices. Serve immediately.

Notes

Pat salmon skin dry to ensure crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to avoid steaming the skin. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. If salmon is thick, add 1-2 minutes to cooking time. For medium-rare, reduce cooking time by about a minute. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to restore crispiness.
