A quick and easy recipe for crispy roasted Brussels sprouts glazed with a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper if desired.
  2. Trim the stem ends and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts. Cut each sprout in half lengthwise; quarter very large sprouts for even roasting.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  4. Place the halved Brussels sprouts in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Pour about half of the honey garlic glaze over the sprouts and toss again to coat without drenching.
  6. Arrange the Brussels sprouts cut side down in a single layer on the baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  7. Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping the sprouts carefully with tongs or a spatula after 12 minutes to promote even browning.
  8. At the 18-minute mark, brush the remaining glaze over the sprouts to build a sticky, shiny coating.
  9. Check for doneness: sprouts should be tender when pierced and have golden brown, crispy edges. Roast a few more minutes if extra crispiness is desired, watching closely to avoid burning.
  10. Remove from oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

Add garlic with the second glaze brush near the end of roasting to prevent burning. Toss sprouts halfway through roasting for even caramelization. Use smaller Brussels sprouts for better crispiness. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari. Reheat leftovers in a hot oven or skillet to maintain crispness; avoid microwaving.
