These crispy pepperoni pizza rolls feature a golden, flaky crust with a warm, gooey center filled with melty cheese and spicy pepperoni, perfect for a quick snack or casual dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 3040 pepperoni slices (about 4 ounces/115g)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese (about 6 ounces/170g)
  • ½ cup (120ml) marinara sauce for dipping
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a roughly 12×10 inch (30×25 cm) rectangle.
  3. Evenly spread the pepperoni slices over the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border on all sides.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the pepperoni.
  5. Lightly sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the cheese if using.
  6. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log shape, pinching the seam and ends to seal.
  7. Slice the log into 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick pieces, yielding about 10-12 rolls.
  8. Place the rolls cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.
  9. Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  10. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and crispy, and cheese is melted.
  11. Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving with warm marinara sauce.

Notes

Use cold dough for easier rolling. Seal edges tightly to prevent filling leaks. Brush with olive oil for crispness or egg wash for a glossy finish. Rotate pan halfway through baking for even browning. Let rolls rest a few minutes after baking to avoid burning your mouth. For gluten-free or dairy-free versions, substitute dough and cheese accordingly. Rolls can be prepared ahead and refrigerated or frozen before baking.
