A romantic and indulgent oatmeal bowl featuring creamy oats, fresh berries, nuts, and a hint of chocolate, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any cozy morning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 2 cups (480ml) milk (dairy or plant-based such as almond, oat, or soy)
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup mixed nuts, roughly chopped (almonds and pistachios recommended)
  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • Edible rose petals (optional, for garnish)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Slice the strawberries, roughly chop the nuts, and gather all your toppings ready for assembly (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup rolled oats and 2 cups milk. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Stir frequently for 8-10 minutes until creamy and thickened, watching closely to prevent sticking or burning.
  3. Stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup into the cooked oats. Mix well and remove from heat. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  4. Spoon the creamy oats into serving bowls, spreading evenly.
  5. Arrange sliced strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, chopped nuts, and a dollop of Greek yogurt artfully on top of the oats.
  6. Sprinkle dark chocolate chips over the bowl, allowing them to melt slightly from the warm oats. Scatter edible rose petals if using, and drizzle extra honey if desired.
  7. Serve immediately while the oats are warm and toppings vibrant.

Notes

Use gluten-free oats to make this gluten-free. Substitute nuts for seeds if allergies are a concern. For vegan version, use plant-based milk and maple syrup. Pat berries dry before placing to avoid soggy spots. Stir frequently while cooking to prevent lumps and sticking. Add chocolate chips last to allow slight melting without losing shape. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
