  • 1/4 cup almond milk (60 ml), dairy-free if preferred
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (almonds or pistachios, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by peeling and slicing the bananas, hulling and chopping the strawberries, and measuring out cocoa powder, almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  2. Freeze the sliced bananas for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
  3. In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine frozen banana slices, half the strawberries, cocoa powder, almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Blend on high until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  4. Adjust the consistency by adding more almond milk if too thick or more frozen banana slices or strawberries if too thin.
  5. Transfer the creamy base to a bowl and gently fold in the remaining chopped strawberries and chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop the nice cream into serving bowls and top with chopped nuts and fresh mint leaves.
  7. Serve immediately for a soft-serve texture or chill in the freezer for 20-30 minutes for a firmer consistency.
