It’s quick, easy, and customizable for any occasion, perfect for coffee and chocolate lovers alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots (about 2 oz) espresso or 1/2 cup (4 oz) strong brewed coffee
  • 3/4 cup (6 oz) whole milk or milk alternative (almond, oat, etc.)
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate shavings or grated chocolate
  • Extra chocolate syrup, for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or honey (optional, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Brew 2 shots of espresso (about 2 oz) or 1/2 cup strong coffee. If using cold brew, measure out 1/2 cup.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup and 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder to the hot coffee. Stir until fully melted and smooth.
  3. If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon sugar or honey for extra sweetness. Taste and adjust.
  4. Let the coffee-chocolate mixture cool for 2-3 minutes, or add a few ice cubes to speed up chilling.
  5. Pour the cooled coffee-chocolate mix into a blender or shaker. Add 3/4 cup cold milk.
  6. Blend or shake for 20-30 seconds until frothy and well combined, or stir vigorously in your glass.
  7. Fill a tall glass with 1 cup ice cubes. Pour the mocha mixture over the ice.
  8. Top with a generous swirl of whipped cream.
  9. Drizzle extra chocolate syrup over the whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or grated chocolate.
  10. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy!

Notes

For a dairy-free or vegan version, use plant-based milk and coconut whipped cream. Adjust sweetness to taste, and try adding cinnamon, nutmeg, or peppermint extract for seasonal variations. Pre-chill your glass for an extra cold drink. Store mocha base (without ice or toppings) in the fridge for up to 2 days.
