A refreshing and easy-to-make salad combining crisp apples, juicy red grapes, toasted pecans, and a honey drizzle for a perfect balance of sweet, tart, crunchy, and nutty flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium-sized crisp apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji), cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh red grapes, halved (seedless varieties preferred)
  • 1/2 cup raw pecans, toasted lightly
  • 2 tablespoons pure honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • A small handful fresh mint leaves, chopped (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant and slightly golden. Transfer to a plate to cool.
  2. Wash the apples and grapes thoroughly. Core and thinly slice the apples about 1/8 inch thick. Halve the grapes.
  3. Place the apple slices in a medium mixing bowl and immediately drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Toss gently to coat evenly.
  4. Add the halved grapes and toasted pecans to the bowl with apples. Sprinkle chopped fresh mint leaves if using, and add a pinch of sea salt.
  5. Pour the honey over the salad and toss gently with a large spoon or salad tongs to combine and coat the ingredients.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately for best freshness and crunch. Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 hours if prepping ahead.

Notes

Toast pecans carefully over medium heat to avoid burning. Toss apples immediately with lemon juice to prevent browning. Add honey drizzle just before serving if preparing ahead to avoid sogginess. Variations include swapping pecans for walnuts, almonds, or pumpkin seeds, and adding cinnamon or orange juice for flavor boosts.
