A refreshing and vibrant sparkling limeade featuring cucumber, mint, and fresh lime juice, perfect for hot summer days and easy to prepare in just 10-15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves, gently bruised
  • Juice of 34 limes (about ½ cup or 120 ml)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) simple syrup, homemade or store-bought
  • 4 cups (1 liter) sparkling water, chilled
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Optional garnish: extra cucumber slices, lime wedges, and mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the simple syrup by combining ½ cup sugar with ½ cup water in a small saucepan. Heat gently, stirring until sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let cool. (Skip if using store-bought syrup.)
  2. Peel the cucumber if desired and slice into thin rounds about ⅛ inch (3 mm) thick.
  3. In a pitcher, add cucumber slices and mint leaves. Gently muddle about 10-15 times using a muddler or wooden spoon to release flavors without pulverizing.
  4. Add fresh lime juice and cooled simple syrup to the pitcher. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Slowly pour in chilled sparkling water and stir gently to blend without losing bubbles.
  6. Add plenty of ice cubes to chill the drink.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more syrup, lime juice, or sparkling water as needed.
  8. Garnish with extra cucumber slices, lime wedges, and mint sprigs. Serve immediately for best fizz and freshness.

Notes

Be gentle when muddling mint to avoid bitterness. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Add sparkling water last to preserve fizz. Adjust sweetness gradually. Store limeade base without sparkling water and ice in the fridge up to 24 hours; add sparkling water and ice just before serving.
