A quick and easy recipe featuring juicy pork chops coated in a sweet and tangy honey mustard glaze that caramelizes beautifully for a restaurant-worthy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops, about 6 ounces (170g) each, about 1-inch thick
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or organic recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika if using. Let rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once shimmering, add the pork chops carefully.
  4. Sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes on one side without moving them to form a golden crust. Flip and sear the other side for 3 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low. Spoon the honey mustard glaze evenly over each chop. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, spooning glaze occasionally until thick and sticky.
  6. Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach 145°F (63°C). If not, cover loosely with foil and let rest for 2 minutes to finish cooking.
  7. Remove chops from heat and let rest on a plate for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat pork chops dry before seasoning to ensure a good sear and glaze adhesion. Use medium-high heat for searing and reduce heat for glazing to prevent burning. Rest chops after cooking to lock in juices. If glaze thickens too fast or starts to burn, lower heat and add a splash of water or broth to loosen it.
