A quick and easy Greek yogurt bowl recipe perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special morning, combining creamy yogurt, fresh berries, honey, and crunchy almonds for a healthy and indulgent breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) Greek yogurt (full-fat recommended, low-fat works too)
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup (75g) fresh raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons honey (local or wildflower honey preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate shavings (optional)
  • Few sprigs fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine 2 cups (480 ml) of Greek yogurt with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Stir gently until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  2. Rinse strawberries and raspberries under cold water. Hull and slice strawberries into thin pieces about 1/4 inch thick. Set aside.
  3. Heat a small dry pan over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of slivered almonds and toast, stirring frequently, until golden brown and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Spoon half of the yogurt mixture into your serving bowl or jar. Layer half of the sliced strawberries and raspberries on top. Sprinkle with half the toasted almonds and 1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds if using.
  5. Add the remaining yogurt on top of the first layer of fruit, then finish with the rest of the berries, almonds, and chia seeds.
  6. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of honey evenly over the top.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate shavings on top and garnish with a few fresh mint leaves.
  8. Serve immediately for best texture and freshness. If prepping ahead, wait to drizzle honey and add garnishes until serving.

Notes

If yogurt is too thick, stir in a tablespoon of milk (dairy or plant-based) to loosen slightly. Toast almonds carefully to avoid burning. Assemble just before serving to keep textures fresh. For vegan version, use plant-based yogurt and maple syrup instead of honey.
