A quick and easy Greek yogurt bowl combining creamy yogurt, ripe bananas, and crunchy cookies for a delicious and nutritious treat perfect for Valentine’s Day or any time.

  • 1 cup (240 ml) Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 34 cookies (shortbread, oatmeal, chocolate chip, or nutty)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
  • A small handful fresh berries (strawberries or raspberries)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the banana. Mash half of it in a bowl until creamy (about 2 minutes).
  2. In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup Greek yogurt. Stir in the mashed banana and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract if using. Mix until combined (1-2 minutes).
  3. Drizzle 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup over the yogurt mixture if desired. Stir gently to blend and adjust sweetness to taste.
  4. Slice the remaining half of the banana into thin rounds or half-moons for topping (about 1 minute).
  5. Break 3-4 cookies into bite-sized pieces, mixing larger chunks and smaller crumbs for texture (about 1 minute).
  6. Spoon the yogurt and mashed banana mixture into a serving bowl. Arrange banana slices on top, sprinkle cookie pieces evenly, then scatter fresh berries and chia seeds if using.
  7. Add an extra drizzle of honey or a few cookie crumbs on top for presentation if desired. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

If Greek yogurt is very thick, stir in a tablespoon of milk to loosen. Add crunchy toppings last to keep cookies from getting soggy. Best eaten fresh. For dairy-free, use plant-based yogurt and vegan cookies. For gluten-free, use gluten-free cookies. Can blend banana for smoother texture or mash with fork if no blender available.
