A rich and decadent lasagna packed with layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy ricotta, gooey mozzarella, and a hint of Parmesan, perfect for Italian-themed dinners or cozy family meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. If using oven-ready noodles, skip this step.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent. Add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  5. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top. Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by more meat sauce. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce and a generous sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

[‘Let the lasagna rest after baking to ensure the layers stay intact when slicing.’, ‘Season the meat and cheese layers separately for maximum flavor.’, ‘Toss pre-cooked noodles in olive oil to prevent sticking.’, ‘Start with a thin layer of sauce at the bottom to prevent noodles from sticking to the dish.’, ‘Use freshly grated Parmesan and high-quality marinara sauce for the best flavor.’, ‘Cover the dish with foil for the first half of baking to prevent the cheese from browning too quickly.’]
