A vibrant and perfectly balanced slushie combining fresh watermelon, strawberries, tequila, and lime juice, ideal for cooling down on hot summer days or impressing guests at casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and seeded if possible
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 3 ounces (90 ml) tequila blanco
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup (homemade or store-bought, adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit by cutting the watermelon into cubes and removing seeds if possible. Hull and halve the strawberries.
  2. Juice the lime using a citrus juicer or by hand to get about 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice.
  3. Add watermelon cubes, strawberries, tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and a pinch of salt into the blender in that order.
  4. Add the ice cubes last. Pulse the blender a few times to break down the ice, then blend on high for about 30 seconds or until smooth but still slushy. Add a splash of cold water or extra lime juice if too thick.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or strength by adding more simple syrup or tequila if desired, then blend briefly again.
  6. Serve immediately in chilled glasses, garnished with a strawberry slice or a small wedge of watermelon. Enjoy with a straw or spoon.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon with deep red color for best flavor. Freeze strawberries ahead for thicker texture. Avoid overblending to maintain slushie consistency. Use good quality blanco tequila for smooth flavor. For lighter versions, swap some tequila with sparkling water or soda. Store leftovers in airtight container in freezer up to 24 hours; thaw and stir before serving.
