A quick and easy frozen strawberry margarita slushie with a spicy Tajin rim, perfect for summer parties and hot days. This cocktail balances sweet, tart, and spicy flavors with a satisfying icy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups frozen strawberries
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice (about 1 large lime)
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup or agave nectar
  • ½ cup ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon Tajin seasoning
  • 1 lime wedge (for wetting the glass rim)
  • Coarse sea salt (optional, for mixing with Tajin)
  • Optional garnishes: fresh strawberry halves, lime wheel or wedge, fresh mint sprig

Instructions

  1. Pour the Tajin seasoning onto a small plate. If desired, mix equal parts coarse sea salt and Tajin for a saltier rim.
  2. Rub the lime wedge around the rim of your glass to moisten it, then gently dip the rim into the Tajin mixture. Set aside to dry for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Squeeze fresh lime juice until you have about 1 ounce.
  4. In a high-speed blender, combine frozen strawberries, tequila blanco, triple sec, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and ice cubes.
  5. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth but thick and icy. Adjust texture by adding water or more lime juice if too thick, or more ice cubes if too thin.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
  7. Pour the slushie into the prepared glass and garnish with a fresh strawberry half, lime wheel, or mint sprig.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use frozen strawberries for best icy texture. Adjust sweetness last to balance tartness and sweetness. Rim the glass properly with lime and Tajin for best flavor. For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila and triple sec with fresh orange juice and sparkling water.
