A quick and easy campfire treat combining warm bananas, creamy Nutella, and toasted marshmallows wrapped in foil for a gooey, indulgent dessert perfect for outdoor fun or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe but firm bananas
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) Nutella
  • 1/4 cup (40g) marshmallows (regular or mini)
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil
  • Optional: chopped nuts (hazelnuts or pecans)
  • Optional: sprinkle of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them lengthwise down the middle, leaving a hinge on one side so they open like a book.
  2. Spread about 2 tablespoons (30g) of Nutella inside the banana split.
  3. Place about 1/4 cup (40g) of marshmallows on top of the Nutella. Optionally, scatter chopped hazelnuts for extra crunch.
  4. Wrap each stuffed banana tightly in heavy-duty foil, sealing the edges well.
  5. Cook the foil packets over hot coals or grill grates for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally with tongs to heat evenly until the banana is soft and marshmallows are melted and golden.
  6. Carefully unwrap the hot foil packets using tongs or oven mitts and serve immediately while warm and gooey.

Notes

Use ripe but firm bananas to hold shape. Heavy-duty foil prevents leaks and ensures even cooking. Turn packets occasionally to avoid hot spots. For indoor cooking, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes. Optional add-ins include nuts, sea salt, or fresh berries. Vegan and dairy-free versions possible with substitutions.
