Fluffy popcorn coated in marshmallow goodness, shaped into balls, and decorated with edible ghostly faces—perfect for Halloween parties and festive fun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups plain popcorn
  • 10 ounces mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Candy eyes
  • Black food gel
  • Optional: Sprinkles, candy corn, or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare 8 cups of plain popcorn using your favorite method and set aside in a large mixing bowl, ensuring no unpopped kernels remain.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn. Use a rubber spatula to gently fold the popcorn until evenly coated.
  4. Let the mixture cool slightly for 2-3 minutes, then lightly grease your hands (or use disposable gloves) and shape the sticky mixture into balls about the size of your palm. Place them on wax paper to set.
  5. Once the popcorn balls have cooled completely, use candy eyes and black food gel to create ghost faces. Stick the candy eyes on and draw spooky mouths or other features directly onto the popcorn balls.
  6. Allow the decorated popcorn balls to rest for 15-20 minutes before serving to ensure the decorations stick properly.

Notes

[‘Work quickly as the marshmallow mixture sets fast.’, ‘Lightly grease your hands with butter or cooking spray to avoid sticking while shaping the balls.’, ‘Ensure the popcorn balls are fully cool before decorating to prevent decorations from sliding off.’, ‘Experiment with different spooky faces or patterns for customization.’]
