A playful and whimsical layered jello dessert featuring edible glitter for a mesmerizing slime-like texture and visual appeal. Perfect for parties or a fun sensory treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp (9g) unflavored gelatin (Knox brand recommended)
  • 3 packets (85g each) flavored gelatin (strawberry, lime, blueberry, or tropical blends)
  • 3 cups (720ml) boiling water
  • 3 cups (720ml) cold water
  • 1 cup (240ml) sweetened condensed milk (can substitute with coconut condensed milk for dairy-free)
  • 2 tbsp edible glitter (food-grade, e.g., Wilton or Fancy Flakes)
  • Optional: a few drops of food coloring to intensify colors

Instructions

  1. Dissolve 1 packet of flavored gelatin in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water, stirring vigorously for about 2 minutes until fully dissolved. Add 1 cup (240 ml) cold water and mix. Let cool slightly.
  2. Sprinkle 1 tbsp (9g) unflavored gelatin over ½ cup (120 ml) cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Warm gently until fully melted without boiling.
  3. Mix melted unflavored gelatin with 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
  4. Pour about ¼ cup (60 ml) of flavored gelatin into each cup. Sprinkle a pinch of edible glitter on top. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until just set but still tacky.
  5. Pour ¼ cup (60 ml) of the creamy gelatin mixture over the first layer gently. Add glitter again if desired. Chill for another 20 minutes until set.
  6. Alternate flavored gelatin and creamy layers with glitter until cups are filled, usually 3-4 layers total. Ensure each layer is set enough to hold the next.
  7. Refrigerate completed cups for at least 2 hours or overnight for a firm but squishy slime-like texture.

Notes

Use the back of a spoon to gently spread layers to avoid mixing. Bloom gelatin properly to avoid clumps. Chill each layer until tacky but not fully firm before adding the next to prevent blending. Use edible glitter sparingly to avoid gritty texture. Clear cups enhance presentation. Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge up to 3 days; avoid freezing.
